For the uninitiated, bareboat yacht charter is not a state of nudity! (joke). Bareboat sailing means that your charter does not include all the amenities which are associated with a crewed or luxury yacht charter where everything is provided, though a bareback charter can include a crew and a captain at least is often highly recommended, depending on the circumstances and the hazards in the sailing area. When you book a yacht for bareback charter you undertake to supply all the food for yourself and your party, and for the captain and crew if they are included in the charter. Yacht charters are available more or less worldwide and in many areas you can sail the yacht yourself providing you have the necessary qualifications. The charter companies supply all the navigational charts you will need and will give you full instructions about everything you need to know about yacht itself and the area in which you intend to sail - after all it is in their interests as well as yours to do so anyway. However, there are many parts of the world where there are serious navigational hazards and where it would be madness for an inexperienced party to take a charter on their own - the Greek islands spring to mind here, and it is doubtful in the extreme if any charter company would allow you to hire one of their craft without the presence of an experienced captain.
